Bộ phim xoay quanh Kenji Endo, một người đàn ông từng mơ ước trở thành ngôi sao nhạc rock, nhưng giờ chỉ là chủ tiệm tạp hóa nhỏ. Khi một loạt sự kiện kỳ lạ và thảm khốc xảy ra, Kenji nhận ra rằng chúng giống hệt những gì anh và nhóm bạn thời thơ ấu đã tưởng tượng ra và viết thành một câu chuyện có tên là “Cuốn Sách Tiên Tri”. Những sự kiện đó dường như đang được thực hiện bởi một giáo phái bí ẩn đứng đầu bởi một kẻ tự xưng là “Friend” (Người Bạn), một nhân vật đeo mặt nạ, thân thế bí ẩn. Kenji buộc phải tập hợp lại nhóm bạn cũ để điều tra, đồng thời tìm cách ngăn chặn “Friend” trước khi thế giới rơi vào thảm họa.
